Summary

Paradoxically a small garden space can take on a grander feel when enhanced by a beautifully bespoke studio, especially if the building sits close to the boundaries. This client, as with many, had a vision of exactly what they wanted and of its function: a spacious garden office, nestled between the trees, with internal storage space accessible from within the building.

Details

With our bespoke designs we strive to make the very best use of your available space. Access permitting, it is possible to build tight up to your boundary as long as a significantly non-combustible material covers the external walls adjacent to that boundary. As such, the three sides of this studio not visible in the photographs were backed with cement particle board which was painted with a weatherproof (RAL coded) paint that colour matched the stunning powder coated aluminium frames of the bifold doors across the front. All our studios are constructed from rigid, thermally efficient SIPs panels (structurally insulated panel system) and this insulation is enhanced further by our cladding and high performance glazing. The cladding seen here is our western red cedar which is sourced from sustainable forestry in Canada. The cooler climates of its origin elicit slower growth, a finer more even grain and incredible durability. This high quality kiln dried wood will not degrade for many decades and may be left to silver or alternatively treated annually with Danish oil to maintain its rich honey hues. We offer many upgrades and optional features to complement our buildings. Included in this build was:
- Wall mounted Convector heater with thermostat and timer.
- Wireless broadband via power cable
- An external security light with PIR
- 9 Internal and 3 external down lighters
- Non slip composite decking
As the photographs demonstrate, this finished studio, bespoke in design, is a fabulously functional and aesthetic addition to this garden space.
