Summary

Mrs Rodgers came to see us at the Grand Designs Show and on seeing, touching and learning about our product, she chose us to design and install her sumptuous pool house. She wished to incorporate a luxury shower room plus a number of upgrades and additional optional features. As part of the build we first need to clear the existing concrete double garage that stood on the designated plot.

Details

After surveying the site, our designer and our client chatted through concepts and aspirations. Together they designed this bespoke contemporary pool room which incorporated a large shower room and externally a roof canopy running the width of the building with our non-slip composite decking below. The front glazing was recessed and as the photographs demonstrate, a perfect continuum of flooring from the internal engineered oak, across the flush threshold, onto the decking and beyond was created. Housed in this roof overhang are four external down lighters and within the room, ten more. Of particular note is the tactile tiling in the shower room, covering one wall and the splash back of the sink. It defies anyone close to it not reach out and touch it. It is made of stacked natural stone so has a stunning 3 dimensional feel enhanced by the subtle colour variations that can only be found in a truly natural product. Exterior stone cladding is something we offer as an alternative or in conjunction with wood cladding or resin render (please see our website for further details). All our studios are constructed using SIPs (structured insulated panels). These panels are highly thermally efficient and so minimal additional energy is required to create your perfect ambient temperature. Being a pool room our client chose underfloor heating which will feel luxurious under bare feet and speed up the evaporation of any water dripped in from the pool and for additional control a wall mounted fan heater was included. Other features were the powder coated aluminium French doors (with high security locks) flanked by wall to ceiling fixed glazed panels. All our double glazing is A rated Argon filled and of toughened glass and in this build included integral blinds which are maintenance free. The external cladding is our Western Red Cedar (kiln dried & also low maintenance) installed with secret stainless steel fixings and oiled to enhance its beautiful golden hues. This spacious pool room offers the contemporary elegance and luxury our client desired and will, we are sure, provide many decades of enjoyment.
