Summary

As part of a garden redesign, this gentleman decided to install a reading room / summer house, to relax in and enjoy the garden from. Unlike many timber summer houses our buildings are exceptionally robust, thermally efficient and weather proof so can be used in the depths of winter, rain or shine. It was the garden designer who contacted Garden Spaces and we arranged a site survey to discuss the concept further, measure the area and give some indicative drawings and costings.

Details

This garden studio is a modest, comfortable space, perfect for our client's requirement and the size of garden. The only access here, was through the house, a common situation with London properties that poses no problems due to the innovative construction techniques we employ. Often, for ease of access, our expert build teams will take fences down and reinstate them at the end of a build, however in this instance due to boundary ownership this could not happen. So, to ensure the very most was made of the space available our build team pre-built one of the walls then lifted it into position, close to the fence. The external cladding is kiln dried knot-free western red cedar with the uPVC frames of the doors and windows in anthracite grey. Masses of natural light floods this lovely studio from glazing on two sides and for gloomier days the three aurora LED downlights ensure plenty of light for reading.
