Summary

Mr Lewis had had a site survey at his previous property with the view to installing a gym however those plans were shelved due to a house move. Once ensconced in the new home they contacted our designer David once more, this time with the wish to install of a garden office. The requirement was for as large and light an office as budget would allow. It was also important that the studio blended with its stunning wooded surroundings.

Details

The stand out feature of this spacious contemporary home office are the huge sliding doors across the front, spanning 6 meters in total. The frames are powder coated aluminium with high performance glazing which is heat reflective, thermally insulating, UV protective and self-cleaning. Another feature, common to many of our studios, is the beautiful kiln dried western red cedar cladding. This FSC wood is grown in the cool climates of Canada resulting in a slow grown fine knot-free grain and an enduring weather resistant strength. The wood is secretly fixed with stainless steel pins and can be oiled annually or left to gently silver. Once digging commenced it became evident the chosen site sloped slightly. This was addressed by raising the ground screw foundations at one end and graduating the cladding below the step. WiFi, PIR security lighting, many brushed chrome double power sockets, LED downlights and a climate control system were installed and certified by our electrician. Overall a functional spacious office that sits well in its beautiful surroundings.
