Our clients were down-sizing and so wished to install a contemporary bespoke office in their new garden for home working. Having masses of light was a key design requirement, as well as internal and external storage.
- Foundations: Built on screw pile foundations which were individually adjusted to account for the slight slope of the ground from left to right.
- External finish: Western red cedar on three sides with cement particle board on the rear elevation. Our kiln dried FSC cedar is almost knot free grain and can be oiled annually.
- Skylight: 1.5m x 1.0m
- Integral blinds: Cleaning and maintenance free, these blinds have minimal impact when fully retracted and allow fine control of sunlight.
- Bi-folding doors: Spanning the front façade, five sashes (each 1.00m x 2.05m high) in a 2 left, 3 right configuration.
- Frames: All windows and doors have powder coated aluminium frames (RAL colour code 7016)
- Climate control: Top of the range, highly energy efficient Fujitsu LT condenser unit
- Flooring: 10mm v groove laminate which comes with a 25-year manufacturer's residential warranty.
- Decking: An expanse of non-slip composite decking, doubling the space when the bifolds are open.
- Electrics: 15 internal (dimmable) and 6 external energy efficient LED down-lights, a strip light in the storage area and 6 double power sockets, all Part P certified.
