Summary

With many properties in London, owners have limited scope to extend, especially if a terraced property with a loft already converted. Creating additional all year round space in the garden is a fantastic and cost effect answer that is incredibly popular and in general, requires no planning permission. The Blatchleys wished to build a garden studio ostensibly for work purposes though of course, to be utilised and enjoyed in whatever capacity served their need.

Details

The garden was relatively long with ideal space at one end for the studio. Our designer met the Blatchleys on site to survey the location and discuss functionality and design aspirations. We provide a complete solution; from bespoke design, site preparation if required, installation, light, power, heating and plumbing, added extras such as Wi-Fi and PIR, and fully decorated. You can cherry pick whatever finishes or features you desire, whether that be an engineered oak floor or oak effect laminate, bifold doors or French, Cedar or stone cladding. This studio was custom built to our client's specification, including the half height windows which created more, usable, internal wall space. They also chose underfloor heating with touch screen thermostatic control, an efficient effective way of ensuring perfect ambient temperatures through the cooler months. The window and doors frames are powder coated aluminium (RAL 7016 anthracite grey) with A-rated argon filled glazing throughout. Finishing touches included six external and nine internal LED downlights, four double power sockets and our durable yet aesthetic 10mm V-groove oak effect laminate flooring.
