Comments

We found the customer service to be both friendly and helpful at all stages, in the initial visits and designs, Donna's various communications and Costi's customer care on site. Indeed the entire building team were professional and skilled and have created a brilliant product... Costi and his guys work extremely hard and are proud of every Studio they build.

Whilst it's very early days we think that the completed studio will probably exceed our expectations. We haven't entirely settled on the use of the main studio yet but the flexibility provided by the additional space is most welcome.

The appearance of the studio in the garden setting is very satisfying. We have emailed some of Costi's photo's onto several friends and their comments have all been extremely positive - who knows, you may even get a few more orders! We would certainly recommend Garden Spaces to prospective customers!

Summary

The main driver for this build was to design a home office ostensibly to replace existing leased offices. Although the remit changed over time the multi-functional nature of our buildings meant our clients could use the finished studio in whatever capacity best suited their needs. As with any project we undertake, making best use of available space was a priority. This plot was an unusual shape with a small area to the rear left that our client was keen to utilise. Incorporating useful storage space was also an important, as two sheds were to be removed to clear the footprint for this fabulous build.

Details

We offer a one stop solution with every build, from site survey and design, through ground works and build, to painting and electrics. For this project, the pre-build ground works included the demolition and removal of the two sheds, the break up and removal of a concrete slab on which one shed had sat and the removal of some patio slabs. With our client on a tight schedule we ensured the build was then completed, ready for use, within three weeks. The final design consisted of three integral rooms; a small, lined but un-plastered storage area on the right, tucked into a pocket of space at the rear of the garden, a middle store room that was fully plastered with v-groove laminate flooring and the main spacious room on the left for use as an office and multi-functional garden room. Standout detail included the angled roof line running from the small storage room to the front façade, thus avoiding any overhang into the neighbours' garden. The exterior finish chosen was our popular Western Red Cedar cladding, with both storage access doors also clad to blend seamlessly. We offer many different finishes, the details of which can be found on our website. Great natural light and views back over the garden were achieved by floor to ceiling glazed panels and doors across the front with useful single door access on the return of the glazed corner. The frames are all powder coated aluminium RAL code 6017 (anthracite grey) with sun glare and privacy control afforded by integral blinds within each argon filled double glazed unit. The Decking is non slip and expertly installed to ensure a seamless indoor / outdoor transition when both doors are opened. Finishing touches included 12 internal and 6 external aurora down lights, 8 internal and one external double power sockets, WiFi via cable, Hitachi Shirokuma climate control and a PIR light.
