Summary

The Roberts approached Garden Spaces to carry out a free site survey with a view to designing and installing a garden studio gym. A second site survey proved necessary to fully assess the ground work and landscaping required. The Roberts were delighted with our proposed design which included the following bespoke features:

Details

- Site Preparation: Garden Spaces carried our considerable landscaping prior to commencement of the build including removal & reinstatement of fence and construction of retaining walls with ageless reclaimed sleepers.

- Additional height: Planning was required and approved to build tight to the boundary and to a maximum 3m external height, giving 2.15m head room internally.

- Curved decking: Extremely durable 'Balau' hard wood decking.

- Doors and windows: Attractively design with French doors and 3 fixed panels of 2.3m, allowing maximum light into the work-out area.

- Glazing: High performance; outstanding energy performance, heat reflective, thermal insulating, UV protective, with toughened glass.

- Frames: Upgraded to powder coated aluminium for stylish maintenance free durability.

- Western Red Cedar cladding: A even, almost knot free grain, kiln dried and fixed with secret stainless steel pins. Can be oiled annually but is otherwise maintenance free.

- Heating: Wall mounted Convector heater was installed with a thermostat and timer, hard wired via a switched spur.

- Electrical installations: 10 internal and 4 external LED down-lights, 4 double power sockets, an external PIR security light and a TV point, connected from the house and fully certified with Part P, by our experienced electrician.
