Summary

As with so many people these days, our client on this project was very keen on exercise and healthy living. Mr Watling came to us wanting a bespoke room which he could use not only as a gym, but also somewhere suitable all year round for storing and maintaining his bikes.
He requested a kitchenette unit with sink to store any parts he had for the bikes, but also to help declutter the main house. The sink would be useful for washing down and dirty bike accessories but would also add flexibility to the studio for long term future use.
The studio would need a large entrance and he requested space in the kitchenette unit for a washing machine and tumble dryer allowing the room to work both as a gym but also a utility room.

Details

At Garden Spaces we pride ourselves on being able to create a studio to fit into any garden and be fit for almost any purpose. The studio for this garden was quite close to the main dwelling and we would need to factor this in when designing it.
The run for waste and water wasn't too far, and the client arranged for this to be done by an external contractor before we arrived on site. A large hedgerow was also removed allowing direct access from the road into the garden which allowed for easy delivery of materials and installation of the studio.
The kitchenette unit was extended to include wall mounted cupboards providing plenty of storage space within the studio, and there was room for the washing machine and tumble dryer to fit underneath. By providing the measurements of these appliances during the design process, we were able to create a bespoke solution to allow these to fit perfectly as they were not standard sizes.
The large French doors provide a big enough entry point to the building allowing all gym equipment and appliances to be brought in with no troubles, and the floor to ceiling windows allow plenty of natural light into the studio providing a perfect atmosphere in which to exercise and indulge ones hobby.
