Now that we have been using the "DEN" for a few weeks, I wanted to tell you how pleased I {well - the children really} are with the new "Den" as it has affectionately become known as.
I wanted to tell you what a great job that Col and the lads did. As soon as they arrived on site the organisation and delivery of materials was fantastic as was their dedication to doing a 1st class job. This particular set of skilled men are a credit to you.

Summary

The Erwoods wished for some additional space for their children to chill out it in, relax with friends and maybe use for sleep overs. Our studios make fantastic TV and games rooms as they are robust, acoustically well insulated and exceptionally thermally efficient, requiring very little energy input to bring them up to a comfortable ambient temperature. Moreover our studios are not off the shelf packages but bespoke SIPs (structured insulated panels) constructions, designed and installed to meet every client's unique requirements and budget. In this case the family had a very specific space at the end of the garden which if utilised efficiently would have minimal impact on the rest of the garden.

Details

As the images show, we built a studio that slotted perfectly into the space available. The design included decking to the side, extending the usable area for children and adults alike (sun downer and table tennis spring to mind), which is RAL coded 7016 (anthracite grey) to match perfectly the aluminium frames of the French doors and roof trim around the cedar cladding. We offer a number of decking options (further details can be found on the website) but this non slip composite decking (wood and PVC) is by far our most popular. As mentioned every studio is bespoke so though we base each model on either a Helix, Elegans or Apex, any number of additional features and upgrades can be chosen. Here, our clients decided to upgrade from the 10mm v groove laminate to an engineered oak floor. They also chose to have integral blinds within the double glazed panels of the French doors, affording unrivalled control of the light; particularly important in a TV room. Other features include six internal double power sockets with USB (in chrome) plus an external weatherproof socket, four internal and two external downlights and a wall mounted convector heater, to boost the temperature is needed. We are delighted to know the Erwood children are enjoying their new 'den'. Its use will no doubt evolve with them.
