Summary

As children get older or families get larger, everybody likes to have their own space in which to relax, enjoy time with friends or just escape from the rest of the family for a while.
Our garden studios are perfect family chillout rooms, and this is what our client wanted on this build. They needed a room big enough for sofas, a television and a small table for a complete room finish. They also wanted a small decked area outside however there was a tree in the way which they wanted to keep, we would need to address this when designing and building the studio.

Details

This light and airy studio was built at the bottom of the garden giving anyone using a discreet and quiet space in which to relax. The large windows allow for plenty of natural light and the French doors open wide to make the most of warm summer weather.
To overcome the issue of keeping the tree, the studio was designed to incorporate this into the decked area. The decking was installed around the tree making a feature and focal point of the decking as you can see from the pictures.
As with many of our clients, Mr and Mrs Mundy took our Helix specification building and made a few upgrades. This studio is finished externally with our cedar cladding and the deck made up of our hardwood decking option.
The windows and doors are upvc, grey on the outside and white on the inside to match the interior decor,
This studio also has a hard-wired smoke alarm for safety and peace of mind. Another upgrade is our remote lighting option, imagine how handy it would be if you could control the lights in your garden building from the house. If you are an iPad or iPhone user then, with the addition of a base station in your home, you can control all the lights through your hand held device with a free app. A very clever feature and one no doubt the children enjoy showing off to their friends as much as their parents do.
