It is has been a pleasure working with you on this. And I should like to put in a good word for the install team who were extremely considerate and a pleasure to have around. It makes such a difference when you have people working with such an obvious enthusiasm for what they are doing. We would be happy to show the studio if you have a potential client. For us, this was an important part of our decision to go ahead and to visualize the end product. We are delighted with the studio and it has been particularly good over the holiday as a space to ship out the teenagers!

"We needed a flexible space that was suitable for our teenage sons " a place for table tennis, gaming, watching TV and socializing. Being at the other end of the garden, they do not have to worry about disturbing anyone. The design fits perfectly into the space available and, if anything, makes the garden look bigger! The bi-folding doors will bring the garden and the studio together in summer months and the underfloor heating is a very good idea. More generally, we are delighted with the quality of the construction and the build team were excellent to work with. It was amazing to see the main structure go up so quickly."

Summary

As children grow up the tend to need to more space, and as they grow up they want to have their own space away from parents. Somewhere they can relax with friends, play games be they consoles or real sports, enjoy their own music, television and just generally have somewhere to unwind.
This was what Mr and Mrs Besley were looking for when they came to us. They needed a large garden room which could accomodate a pool table, table tennis and enough room to move around and play games without bumping into walls.
They wanted a studio that could be opened up in summer and provide extra space in which they could entertain family and friends. They liked the idea of bifolding doors and asked for these to included in the design. The studio was to be sited in a sunken bed previously occupied by a climbing frame. This would provide a perfect base for us to lay our foundations. A few railway sleepers formed a plant border around the fenceline but this would be removed prior to our arrival.

Details

When we arrived on site to start the project, the climbing frame and railway sleepers had already been removed. This allowed our builders to start getting the foundations in very quickly and get the concrete dry and ready to start assembling the studio.
As you can see from the photographs there are large bifolding doors which open up a whole side of the studio overlooking the garden. This allows for very easy access and blends indoors and outdoors very nicely. Perfect for warm days. These large doors also ensure the table tennis table and pool table could be brought in with no problems at all.
As with many of our clients, Mr and Mrs Besley chose our Helix spec studio and chose to upgrade various elements in this. This studio has Western Red Cedar cladding, underfloor heating, integrated aluminium blinds, powder coated aluminium framed windows, doors and roof trim, as well as brushed metal fixtures and fittings. The decking is our softwood decking and blends beautifully with the cladding on the studio.
A very versatile studio which will provide not only the teenage children somewhere to relax, but also their parents.
