The Bells, with their growing family, needed more space so, (rather than moving) they installed a multi functional garden studio. They wanted it to include a shower room, to maximise its usefulness but this did require a drainage survey to establish where best to make the waste water connection. This studio sits on a raised bed, which required some landscaping and is designed so as to accommodate the large tree.
- Ground preparation: Our team installed a retaining wall at the rear, made of reclaimed sleepers.
- Bespoke design: A unique shape to maximise the space available whilst working around the large tree.
- Screw pile foundations: Innovative stainless steel screw foundations minimise disruption and damage to tree root systems.
- Western red cedar cladding: This durable even grained almost knot free FSC wood is kiln dried and fixed with stainless steel secret fixings. It can be oiled annually if desired but is otherwise maintenance free.
- En suite shower: With compact sink and toilet in vanity units, thermostatic electric corner shower with 900 x 900mm tray, tiled on two sides and an extractor fan with adjustable timer.
- uPVC double glazing in anthracite grey: French doors with high security 5-point locking.
- Heating: 1 x wall mounted convector heater, to boost temperatures when required.
- Laminate Flooring: This comes with a 25-year manufacturer's residential warranty.
- Electrics fittings: 7 internal dimmable and 2 external energy efficient LED down-lights, 4 double power sockets, all Part P certified.
