Summary

Mr Traynor came to us needing a garden studio for his son. He needed a seperate space which he could call his own in which he could entertain his friends, relax and unwind away from his parents. The studio would need a small kitchenette for when their son would be entertaining, and a shower suite which would add to the flexibility of the studio.
They wanted some decking in front of the studio which would be perfect for socialising and relaxing in the warmer months, adding extra space to the studio. Mr Traynor wanted to be able to open up the front of the studio if possible and we would consider this when designing the studio.

Details

We have built many studios for use as additional family space from simple hangout rooms for teenagers to fully equipped garden buildings. This one is towards the latter end of the scale and features many bespoke items. The kitchenette was included in the build with plenty of cupboard space and a small sink. The shower suite comes with an electric shower, toilet and small sink all of which are perfectly incorporated into the design of this studio.
The shower suite also features a sun tube, allowing for plenty of natural light to enter the room through the roof reducing the need for lights to be turned on during the day.
The main room of the studio is open and spacious making it a perfect entertaining space in which our clients son could relax and enjoy himself with his friends. A pre-installed television cable was pulled through and we connected the relevant socket and back box for this. To help keep the temperature of the studio in check, we installed underfloor heating throughout the studio to allow the body of the room to be kept at a constant temperature, but we also added a small wall mounted convector heater to provide a blast of heat if needed on very cold days.
A large skylight was installed in the main room as well to allow plenty of light in, and as requested by Mr Traynor we fitted bifolding doors to the front of the building allowing the whole front facade to be opened up, this will be fantastic on warm summer days.
