We are delighted with our new garden room. It has given us new office space, a spare room, an additional kids play area, a cinema room and hopefully, in the summer, an extension to the garden. In fact, we all want to move in permanently! We found Garden Spaces to be very professional, responsive to our needs and they certainly delivered what they promised - a very high quality product.


Common with many of our projects the Metcalf family were looking for additional space but had no desire to move to a bigger home.
The new building would need to perform dual functions fulfilling both the needs or the family whilst providing a quite office space during the day.
The building would need to adhere to local planning permission and would be a central part of the garden redevelopment.
The family also had a large television which would need adequate support when fixed to the garden room wall.


We worked with the family to ensure the building would fit with their vision for the landscaping project.
A bespoke wrap around decking area was included within the build which accommodated an existing tree and provided useable space surrounding the room to help bring the outside into the newly created space.
This was further enhanced with the clients choice of bifolding doors. Featuring a secure single entrance door the bifolding doors can only be opened from within the room. Once fully retracted the sliding doors ensure the new space feels carefully nestled amongst its natural surrounds.
Adding to the multi use needs of the building we installed an internal shower room which featured a pumped 10.5kw shower unit to provide a powerful shower.
The building included a sedum roof and the family's heavy plasma tv was securely bolted to an external wall. We also laid armoured cables for the power needs plus ducting to enable cable TV/Satellite connections to be routed to the garden room. The ducting has the added benefit of future proofing the building in case additional cabling needs to be brought from the house.
