Summary

As well as building garden studios for private individuals we can also create bespoke buildings for commercial properties and schools looking to add additional office space or in this case, an extra classroom.
Hounds Field Primary school came to us needing a studio which would be used as a studio and make use of some spare ground they had on their premises. They had a couple of sites in mind and we would look at these on the site survey.
Both sites were on raised ground which would need addressing when designing the studio and how best to overcome this.

Details

Once we had conducted a site survey we were able to advise the school as to the best location for their classroom studio. The site chosen was on a raised piece of ground but was level at the top. We created a design with steps up to the main studio to overcome the steep slopes of the site which also made the studio rather a feature on the school grounds.
A large decked area was also included in the design to provide an area where staff and students could sit and socialize out of class but could also be used for teaching on warm and sunny days. The bedding areas were also installed to provide an area for students to plant flowers and other bedding plants which given time would create a very nice feature next to their classroom.
The studio is of our Elegans range and comes with Western Red Cedar cladding, powder coated aluminium framed windows and doors, engineered wood floor, down lighters and brushed metal fixtures and fittings.
To minimize disruption to staff and pupils the studio was built in the summer holidays giving pupils something to look forward to on their first day back at school.
