Summary

Our clients needed extra living space to use as an office for home working and workshop / man cave for tools etc. We designed a bespoke contemporary building that integrated both areas and utilised the space across the bottom of the garden to the absolute maximum.

Details

Stainless steel screw pile foundations: This highly effective durable system is installed by experts. It is fast, cost effective and causes minimal disruption or waste. The existing concrete slab at the bottom of this garden was thin enough and low enough to be drilled straight through. (This is not always feasible)

Natural light: This was achieved by installing a fully glazed door and half height windows in the office leaving space for a desk to be positioned below.

Suntube: Garden Spaces use Solatube Daylighting Systems, which are the world's leading sun tube brand. It comes with a 10-year manufacturer's warranty. The solar tube gathers natural light at roof level and transfers it, via highly reflective tubing, to a ceiling fitting which diffuses light into the room below.

Flooring: 10mm v-groove laminate in Cappucino oak , which comes with a 25-year manufacturers guaranatee.

Doors and windows: All are double glazed with uPVC frames in anthracite grey (RAL 7016)

Electrics fittings: 4 internal dimmable and 2 external energy efficient LED down-lights, a strip light and suntube in the work shop and 5 double power sockets, all Part P certified.
