The guys have finished and everything is in order. Steve and Ian were fantastic and have done a great job.
I'm very happy with the work and the studio looks great. So great in fact that I think you might get a order from my neighbour.

Summary

Living in a flat has advantages but can limit ones capacity to extend internal space. If however, like this client, you have garden space, the ability to extend is there. Mr Garrihy wanted to create spacious office which could if needed double up as an additional room for overnight visitors. Being out in the garden it was deemed ideal if the studio incorporated a kitchenette and compact bathroom. As the main property is a flat, planning permission was required, which we sought and was approved with ease.

Details

Our designer surveyed the site with Mr Garrihy and discussed with him, his functional and aesthetic requirements. There was an existing concrete slab on the designated build site which proved suitable for us to use. Moreover, the utilities (electricity, drainage, water) were also in situ bringing down the cost of the installation for our client. Though the majority of our garden studios are externally clad with cedar we do offer a wide range of external finishes, including stone cladding and organic polymeric render. (Further details can be found on this website) The render and our frames (whether uPVC or powder coated aluminium) are available in a wide range of RAL colours. As the images reflect, white and grey render with black frames as chosen here, gives a striking and contemporary feel to the building. Internally this contemporary feel is continued with stylish units and tiles supplied and fitted by our client. Our electrician installed 13 internal and 4 external LED downlights, plus 6 double power sockets and a wall mounted convector heater. The flooring, which comes with a 25 year residential warranty, is 10mm V-groove laminate here in grey oak. Further details of our wide range of floors can be found under 'materials'. Natural light floods this studio through the French doors with fixed panels either side, plus two high top hung windows, with a smaller top hung window in the bathroom. All glazing is A-rated adding to the excellent thermal efficiency of this SIPs (structured insulated panels) studio.
