Energy efficient windows and doors

A choice of frames

We use both quality uPVC and powder coated aluminium frames in our garden buildings. Our Helix and Elegans designs feature grey frames that complement the treated timber cladding when first installed and as it ages naturally with time.

Our aluminium frames come with a 20-year warranty.

Window and door options

We offer a wide range of window and door configurations, including:

  • Single doors
  • French doors
  • Sliding doors (up to 4m spans)
  • Folding and sliding doors (up to 7 sashes and 6.3m).

With countless window and door combinations to choose from, we can tailor a solution that works perfectly for you and your garden buildings. Our standard opening widths are 900mm and we can even offer low threshold doors to allow wheelchair access.

Security

All our windows and doors have high security locks as we understand the security of your garden space and its contents is of paramount importance.

Glazing

At Garden Spaces we only use FENSA accredited suppliers for our windows and doors, while all double glazed units feature argon gas filling and toughened glass.

Our top Elegans building specification offers high performance glazing that offers the following benefits;

  • Heat reflection (57% - standard glass  is 24%): measured by the taking the opposite or inverse of the glazing solar factor. Solar Factor is the percentage of the total solar radiant heat energy entering the room through the glass.
  • Thermal insulation (a U-value of 1.0 w/m2k – standard glass is 2.7 w/m2k): a measure of the rate of heat loss through the glazing. The lower the u-value the better the glass is at retaining heat which is one of the principal reasons why we install  energy efficient glass.
  • Glare reduction (35% - normal glass is 19%): measured by the inverse of ‘light transmission’, the proportion of the visible light spectrum that is transmitted through the glass. It is important to reduce the transmission of concentrated light, especially in the roof, to maximise visual comfort.
  • Self-cleaning glass: the self-cleaning coating is fully integrated into the surface of the glass ensuring its effects are long-lasting. In a process called ‘catalysis’ the coating uses UV rays from the sun to break down organic dirt and turns the surface hydrophilic. Rain or hosepipe water then forms a sheet of water and rinses the dirt away.

Further glass options

We can also supply:

  • laminated glass for additional strength
  • opaque glass for privacy
  • fire rated glass
  • acoustic glazing

Integral blinds

As well as offering a range of aluminium and wooden external venetian blinds, you can now choose from our new range of integral blinds that sit inside the glazing units. These integral blinds are available in a variety of colours and provide a seamless finish – perfect for folding and sliding doors. These blinds can be controlled manually via a magnetic linkage, or via remote control powered by solar cells.
