Summary

Our client, an exceptionally talented musician, wanted to use the space at the top of their garden for a multifunctional studio. It was to be a place for relaxing and enjoying a cuppa with friends but also double up a peaceful place in which to teach music or get some office work cracked. It was decided the inherent acoustic insulation afforded by our SIPs panels and cladding, was adequate for this scenario however we do offer a wide range of acoustic solutions if required.

Details

- Western Red Cedar cladding: Slow grown in cool climates for an even, almost knot free grain. Kiln dried and fixed with secret stainless steel pins. Can be oiled annually or left to silver gracefully but otherwise is maintenance free.

- French Doors: 2m wide with aluminium powder coated frames.

- Windows: Both with powder coated aluminium frames. The larger window is 2m wide and has space below to sit a desk with lovely views back across the garden to the house.

- Heating: Wall mounted Convector heater was installed with a thermostat and timer, hard wired via a switched spur.

- Finished flooring: The oak effect 10mm v groove laminate is our standard floor for Helix. It has proved the flooring of choice as it looks fabulous and comes with a 25 year manufacturer's residential warranty.

- Electrical installations: 12 internal and 4 external LED downlights, 5 double power sockets fully certified with Part P.
