"I cannot thank you, your designer and all your team enough for your stunning product and the efficient, professional, helpful way the whole project has been handled from start to finish. The outcome is truly wonderful and a huge enhancement of my already stunning new contemporary home."

Summary

Psychologically, stepping out of your house and physically entering a different building is very different from stepping into a different room within your house. You can switch off from the chores, from those mental distractions and engage more fully in something else; whether that be work, art, music, reading or simply relaxing. Most of us are so busy we've lost the art of true guilt free relaxation especially when surrounded by demands on our attention, our time and our energy. It seems this lady recognised the need for an area, close yet completely detached from her beloved home, purpose built for unfettered relaxation.

Details

This bespoke contemporary studio was built within permissible planning, the aim being to make the best of some relatively redundant space at the side of the house whilst still embracing the openness of the garden. The most striking aspect of this build, if you are familiar with our website, is the external finish in polymer render. Being a truly bespoke product we offer a number of finishes to our SIPs (structured insulated panels) construction: wood cladding (thermowood or western red cedar), stone cladding or RAL colour coded polymer render. All are exceptional quality, thermally efficient, enduring and maintenance free. The choice is very much yours!
Apart from acoustically insulated studios (where glazing is kept to a minimal) our designs lend themselves to maximising natural light by incorporating beautiful floor to ceiling glazing which in turn creates a sense spaciousness and opens up the views of the great outdoors. With half of this studio tucked between a wall and high fence we employed other features to maximise light, namely a roof light (1200mm by 600mm) and two elegant long windows at one end. Our roof lights, which throw a remarkable amount of light into the room, are triple glazed and self-cleaning. The hidden bonus is that the area directly below them gains an additional 30cm in room height, great for a tall painters' easel or bulky piece of gym equipment. The French doors and glazed panels overlooking the main garden are recessed with a deep roof overhang and our 'anthracite' non-slip composite decking which has secret fixings and fully capped ends.
With our Elegans range, all windows and doors come in powder coated aluminium, RAL colour coded 7016 (anthracite). Other standard features include high performance self-cleaning glazing, stunning solid wood floors, internal and external halogen down lighters and brush chrome electrical furniture.
This unique studio makes great use an area that might otherwise have remained redundant but still allows our client to relax and enjoy the garden from a cozy vantage point.
