Our Build Process

Every build we undertake is unique but generally we follow several processes to ensure your new garden building is delivered on time to your specific requirements.

Step 1

The team at Garden Spaces has years of experience when it comes to building design, specialist features and, most importantly, customer service. We can help every step of the way. From the moment you first get in touch to the day we hand you the keys to your very own space, you can be guaranteed a level of care that is unsurpassed. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail at every step along the way.

Step 2

You'll already know what you need your space for, so using the information given here on the website, in the brochure and the Price Guide, will help you see the many option available, and guide you through the best options for your requirements.

Step 3

Next, talk to us so we can fill in any gaps in your information and offer advice on what will work for you. If you're happy, then the next stage is a meeting in your garden. We can discuss the project in more detail; survey the site and check out the proposed location. We'll take photographs, make lots of notes and go away to produce a detailed fully costed and itemised quote, with full specification and plans and drawings so you can visualise the end result.

Step 4... Our References

And talking of visualisation... It's much easier to get an idea of the end result if you can see one of our garden rooms 'in the flesh', so we're more than happy to organise a visit to see one we made earlier, from our vast network of happy clients who are more than happy to show them off.

Step 5... Planning Permission

The joy of Garden Spaces' rooms is that, more often than not, they don't need planning permission as they're allowable under permitted development rights, We have an in depth knowledge of planning law, built up over many years.

There are always exceptions to the rule, though (areas of outstanding natural beauty, listed buildings, flats with gardens etc.) so if you do need planning permission, we can use our experience and expertise - and for an additional cost covering fee - manage the whole process for you from start to finish.

Step 6... Ready Steady

Once you're happy with the final design and specification and we've sorted any extras and project specifics you might want, then we'll ask you for a deposit.

Once we've got that, our workshop will start producing your garden room, and we'll be able to arrange the installation date (normally four to six weeks away) plus dates ahead of that for sorting the groundworks, drainage and the electrics if necessary.

Step 7... Go

Our installation teams are extraordinarily hard-working, hugely experienced, very polite - and generally fuelled by tea.

They will work in all weathers (as far as possible) to make sure your building is up within a number of weeks depending on the size and complexity of your project.

We pride ourselves on good project management to ensure that everything goes smoothly.

Step 8... Satisfaction Guaranteed

Once you can disappear into your brand new space, we'll be in touch to make sure you are happy with your room. If there are any problems, however small, we will be back to fix them as quickly as possible.

All Garden Spaces' rooms come with a 10-year guarantee against major structural defects, along with a year-long guarantee on all fittings. On top of that, many of the individual building components come with their own manufacturers' guarantees so you really are well covered.
