What could a garden room do for your property value?

The last few years don't necessarily feel like they've held a lot of good news for British families, but recently we've started to see a definite pick up in house prices, which is good for homeowners. Now that prices have started to rise and there's less of a risk of being trapped in negative equity, more and more homeowners are tempted to put their property on the market.

This means that there are more and more houses appearing on property websites and in estate agent windows, the amount of choice for buyers gets greater and they can afford to be a little more selective. The conventional wisdom when selling your house is to redo the kitchen and bathroom and make sure you brew some fresh coffee when people come to look round. The problem is that everybody knows these tricks, so what can you do to make sure your home stands out as more desirable and you get the best price?

While a new kitchen or bathroom is very appealing to the next family that makes your house their home, predicting their needs or desires beyond this is very difficult - but the saviour could be the addition of a garden room! By turning over some of your extra garden space for a garden room, you can create a stylish, multi-functional area that makes your home really stand out locally.

The best thing is that Garden Spaces rooms are designed to fit around your existing space, rather than being made to pre-fabricated plans, so they work with your garden rather than against it. They can serve a multitude of purposes, which is what makes them so desirable in the first place.

For a family that includes those who work from home, the garden room is an incredibly valuable addition. A comfortable, light and enticing place to work that's away from the distractions of family life can be a real boon to productivity. They can even be fitted with a kitchenette and WC, meaning that all necessary facilities needed during the day are taken care of, so there's no need to go back to the house.

A small shower room can also be fitted, meaning that the space becomes a fully self-contained living space, which is either guest accommodation, a granny annex or even a small hotel on sharing sites, such as AirBnB. The latter is very enticing, as it provides a potential revenue stream, but at the very least it makes family events such as weddings or the holiday season much less cramped in the house!

The best part of a garden room is that they can almost be put to any use imaginable and provide real value to family life... so much so that you may be tempted to stay exactly where you are!
