Summary

This client required a sound studio for recording purposes. Every element of this design was exceptionally critical to the studio's function and there was close collaboration between Mr Mead, our designer and the build team throughout. We have a great deal of experience in building sound studios offering a variety of acoustic packages that can be adapted to perfectly suit individual requirements.

Details

Being of SIPs construction our studios command not only great thermal values but are also innately quite sound proof. That's a good start. The second important design factor is minimising the amount of glazing. Thirdly the second fix materials used offer varying acoustic proofing, such as acoustic plasterboard or underlay and finally additional materials such as buffer panels and tegular tiles can be strategically placed. Mr Mead chose our gold acoustic package, further details of which can be on our website under 'Extras'. He also designed and supplier the lighting which we installed as required. The crowning glory of this precision build was the sedum roof which has a number of advantages. Clearly it is a very attractive option that blends beautifully with leafy surroundings. It is clearly ecologically a sound choice, providing a habitat for mini beasts and assisting in rain water management. Key to this design is that it contributes to the thermal and acoustic insulation of the building. As the images indicate, this carefully designed studio not only looks great in our client's garden but is a high specification build created for professional sound recording.
