Summary

This was a unique and highly specified build with many integral components within a relatively compact area. As a pool side studio our clients needed the building to fulfil many tasks; house an integral boiler room, have a 'living' area with a bar and kitchenette, a changing room with shower and separate toilet. Another key detail was the overall external dimensions and position, as the building was to form the connecting structure for one end of their timber arched pool cover, which was to be fitted retrospectively.

Details

- Boiler Room: To house the filters and pumps for the pool and mega flow water tank.

- Kitchenette: A stylish compact area, with our standard Howdens cupboards (Greenwich gloss graphite), a granite work surface and integrated fridge.

- Changing Room: A luxurious space with high opening window for ventilation, heated towel rail and extra-large fully tiled shower enclosure with rainwater head.

- Doors: A single pedestrian door plus 2.4m wide sliding doors giving maximum natural light and unhindered views across the pool area without creating obstructions. All frames are powder coated aluminium with high security locking and energy saving, Planitherm+, toughened double glazing.

- Windows: Two high top-hung windows with frosted glass and key operated locks.

- Toilet: A separate room, with window, 3 way industrial macerator, LED mirror and useful vanity unit under the sink.

- Heating: Underfloor heating, ensuring those water puddles, from soggy swimmers quickly evaporate. The rooms can be maintained at perfect ambient temperatures with the touch screen thermostatic control.

- Finished flooring: Wet proof flooring for the toilet and changing room area. Bamboo flooring in the main reception room.

- Electrical installations: 8 internal LED downlights, 6 double power sockets and 2 strip lights in the boiler room, all certified with Part P.
