Summary

This client requested a site survey back in 2014. He lives in a flat, so planning permission had to be applied for. He wanted to design and install a uniquely shaped building for use as an office and approached us knowing we design and construct bespoke buildings of any shape or configuration. Access was very problematic but our experienced team overcame this, with the help of a very kind neighbour.

Details

- Planning Permission: Most of our builds come under permissible development but here, because the main residence was a flat, planning was required.

- Bespoke design: An interesting design with a unique shape to maximise the space available.

- Polymeric render external finish: This hard wearing weatherproof render is not painted; the colour is integral meaning it will not fade. The grey colour was chosen to match the external finish of flat.

- Sliding Doors: 2 x sashes of 0.9 wide x 2.05m high, giving uninterrupted views across the garden.

- Frames: These are powder coated aluminium in anthracite grey (RAL7016) to match the main residence.

- Heating: A sleek wall mounted convector heater was installed, to boost temperatures when required.

- Flooring and skirting: Normally installed by us, but the client wished to fit these items himself on completion of the build.

- Electrics fittings: 7 internal dimmable and 3 external energy efficient LED down-lights, 6 double power sockets, plus 2 wall mounted lights, all Part P certified.
