I think that your service is excellent, Donna looked after the project well throughout. Colum and his team worked well and considerately. They cleaned up the mess quickly, worked effectively and maintained high standards for construction and finishing. The construction went well and quickly (especially considering it rained nearly every day) and the whole job was complete in 3 weeks, had the weather not been an issue, it would have been complete in 2 weeks. The team were polite, considerate and worked well. Overall we are thrilled with the way the space has been transformed and very much look forward to enjoying the new family room in the summer.

Summary

This is a studio was designed with three very distinct functions in mind; a gym, a work shop and a storage area. Our client had given the design of his garden spaces a great deal of thought and came to us to create this bespoke multifunctional building.

Details

The site was relatively level and access no problem. The SIPs (structured insulated panels) system we employ affords many advantage: exceptional thermal performance, robust rigidity and longevity, flexible design and speedy construction. The studio was divided into three rooms by means of stud walls. The largest of the three, the gym, is fully glazed on two sides with bifold doors, one opening outwards and one inwards. When opened therefore the effect is similar to floating ceiling, making the gym area feel at one with the garden. Even I the winter this room will have fantastic light and great views down the garden. The central room, with the 'secret' door is for that all important dry secure garden storage. The room nearest to the house is intended as the workshop. In total, 15 internal LED downlights were installed and 10 double power sockets. Externally the standout feature is the beautiful kiln dried cedar cladding, which will silver over time or can be oiled but is otherwise maintenance free. Overall an extremely well thought through precision build with a multitude of functions.
